Lisboa Palace project in Macau
This project was a casino constructed in Macau. This project consisted of 6 floors and a dome. Total weight was about 15,000 ton and floor area around 170,000m2. There were 308 trusses and 2700 steel beams included in this project. Most sections were wide flange (I) sections. Typical truss was 36m long and 3m depth. Girder trusses consist of two trusses (Double truss).
MGM Cotai Hotel Development Project in Macau
This project was a Theatre Roof structure constructed in Macau. Total weight was about 2700T ton. Typical truss was 45m long and 6.5m depth. The roof structure was a two way truss system. There were 20 trusses and 300 steel beams included in this project. Most sections were wide flange (I) Sections, Truss diagonal sections were double T sections.
Activities Performed:
Performed structural design & analysis of steel structures (Used Euro and Macau code)
Prepare calculation reports such as Calculate the camber of trusses and beams of the project. Analyzed and design of steel connection (Check the shear capacity, Bearing capacity of the bolts etc). Changed the rolled sections of the truss top and bottom chord members to built-up sections in order to construct easier.
Assist in for Preparing BOQ, claim reports, method statements, Presentations and tender documents
Take off the project weight using excel and Tekla software. Assist in Make claim reports for changes from structural design drawings, site issues cause by the other contractor (Concrete contractor). Modeling and generating 3Dviews of the structures. Create stress diagrams (moment, shear, deflection) of the structure.
Check Shop Drawings
Check the member sizes, connections (Bolts, shear plates, Stiffener plates, welds), and other specifications whether it follows same as the design drawings.
Coordination with other departments through emails and meetings Coordinate with QS department, Designer regarding drawing issues, Takeoffs etc. Sometimes attend the meeting with boss and project manager and discuss about matters (Causes for delay construction etc.) with the client and QS department.
Erection Engineering
Check the stability of the structure while erecting. Check and calculate the punching shear effect of the slab and beam capacity due to the mobile crane moving and lifting activities. Provide erection methods
